Barber, Andrew (Andy) (c. 1853–1943)

from Windsor & Richmond Gazette (NSW)

This entry is from Obituaries Australia

The whole Hawkesbury community will learn with sincere regret of the passing of one of the district's centenarians and an almost historic character in Mr. Andrew Barber, whose death took place in the District Hospital on Monday evening, at an age generally estimated at being at least 104 years. The last of the Hawkesbury aborigines — and one of Nature's gentlemen — the late Mr. Barber had enjoyed the respect of generations of Hawkesbury folk, and his passing is regarded almost as the removal of a cherished institution.  The funeral takes place this (Wednesday) afternoon, when the interment will be conducted in the Church of England cemetery, Windsor.
